About St. Barths
St. Barts Island (St. Barthelemy or St. Barths) is located in the French Caribbean near St. Martin and Anguilla. A relatively unspoiled tropical island with an abundance of beautiful beaches, breathtaking vistas, a quaint capital city (Gustavia) wrapped around a picturesque harbor. St. Barths Island is renown for hosting many of the Caribbean's best restaurants and cafes.
“ A St. Barths vacation does not include towering casino hotels or mega tourism resorts. ”
Of the 21 beaches on the small island, several are considered especially inviting. On the southern side of the island, Saline is a pristine beach with no development. On the western edge of the island is Colombier beach, which is only reachable by boat or a hike. St. Jean, Flamands and Grand-Cul-de-Sac beaches are also popular and attractive beaches which have hotels and other establishments on them. Shell Beach is popular for families with children as it has little surf.
Its allure comes from the islands intimacy, ideal climate, crystal clear Caribbean water, friendly people and Caribbean charm.
About St. Maarten
St. Maarten/St. Martin is the smallest island in the world to be divided between two different nations. The island is split between the Dutch and French, and the two cultures live very peacefully together on 37 sq. miles. In fact, the island's inhabitants are quite proud of their nearly 350-year history of peaceful co-existence. The island's two sides offer you the culture and lifestyle of both the Dutch and the French.
St. Maarten/St. Martin has 37 beaches that are secluded areas of beautiful white sand. All kinds of water sports are available including; windsurfing, swimming, sailing, jet skiing, diving and snorkeling. Half-day or full-day sailing excursions to undeveloped beaches nearby are also available.
St. Maarten/St. Martin's climate and natural beauty make it a perfect place for other sports and recreation. Golf, tennis, biking, hiking and horseback riding are other activities that allow you to explore the island's natural splendor.
Nightlife in this 37-square-mile touristy island can provide you with some of the most enthralling experiences of a lifetime.
Casinos (on the Dutch side), nightclubs and dance bars are just some of the attractions available on the island. In addition, there are literally hundreds of fine restaurants to choose from.
About Anguilla
“ Part of the British West Indies, Anguilla is home to the Caribbean's highest concentration of luxury properties. ”
Anguilla is a fascinating country, with a rich and vibrant history. It makes an ideal tourist destination, with friendly people, beautiful weather, amazing coral reefs and diving, and a range of accommodation choices. While the legal currency of Anguilla is the East Caribbean dollar, the US dollar is accepted virtually everywhere. This, combined with English as the national language, makes it a very easy place to visit and explore.
The mere mention of Anguilla vacations tends to conjure images of mega yachts, a life of super luxury, the ultimate in fine dining, talcum-powdery white sand beaches, and no-limit budgets. Is it because of all the celebrities that make Anguilla their vacation hideaway? Is it a tightly held secret amongst the world's multi-millionaires and billionaires? it could be, but the "secret" is getting out!
Although still a long way from being overdeveloped (in 1980, the government decided to limit development to discreet, small hotels and elegant, upscale resorts), Anguilla is becoming more sophisticated with each season. Most of the island's luxury properties are on the western half in Shoal Bay West, Rendezvous Bay, and Meads Bay. The island is booming with recent hotel and restaurant openings and its airport runway is growing to accommodate larger commercial planes in addition to private jets.
But the lure remains: great beaches, elegant resorts, and fabulous dining.
With more than 30 beaches on 12 miles of coastline and some of the Caribbean's best resorts and restaurants, Anguilla and its resorts continually sit on the top of Conde Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure award lists.
